1.    Student A: Which professions are the most common in your community?
Student B: The most common professions in my community are doctors, nurses, teachers and police officers.

Conversation Examples
Read the conversation examples and pay attention to how the structures and expressions are used in different contexts. After that, practice the conversations with a partner.

Conversation One:
 
Carlos: Hi Bryan! How are you doing?
Bryan: Good! What have you been doing?
Carlos: I have been studying English.
Bryan: Really?
Carlos: Yes! I want to be an English teacher!
Bryan: Cool! Where can you major in English teaching?
Carlos: In Costa Rica, there are many universities that have the major but I am in the Universidad de Costa Rica. What would you like to be in the future?
Bryan: I am not sure yet! I am thinking about being a teacher or being an engineer. What are the benefits of being a teacher?
Carlos: Well, you share your knowledge with many people. You help students to improve their skills and you never stop learning!
Bryan: That sounds interesting. In my opinion, being a teacher is better than being an engineer.   

Conversation Two:
 
A: What do you do for a living?
B: I am a cook.
A: A cook! That must be a lot of work.
B: It is. I work at the “Central” Restaurant. Every day I cook more than fifteen different dishes.
A: That's a lot.
B: Yes, it is.  

Conversation Three:
 
Mr Bean: Hello Mr Jones, what do you do for a living?
Mr Jones: I am a teacher in a high school.
Mr Bean: A teacher? That sounds like a lot of hard work.
Mr Jones: Sometimes. I teach high school children.
Mr Bean: Is there a lot of students in your class?
Mr Jones: Most classes have about thirty students on average.
Mr Bean: Do like your job?
Mr Jones: Yes, it is so rewarding!
