Doctors take care of sick and injured people. They treat wounds (injuries). And they give emotional support to patients and their families. Doctors make tests to find out why people are sick. They also do lab work to get test results. Doctors also teach people how to take care of themselves and their families. Doctors can focus (specialize) on treating one type of patient such as babies, children or the elderly (older citizens). Doctors work in clinics or hospitals. They help with medical tests, give medicine and dress (clean and cover an injury) wounds. Some also do lab and office work. Home health doctors go to people´s homes to help them. Some doctors fly in helicopters to get to sick people in emergencies. Some doctors have special training and can do more advanced or specialized work.
